Created attachment 121972 [details] plasma-pa infinite volume increase or decrease Using the keyboard shortcut to increase the volume *in a particular way* makes the popping sound play indefinitely. Basically, the system won't stop increasing the volume. You can see this well in the attachment. HOW TO REPRODUCE THE BUG: Keep pressing Fn, Keep Pressing F3 (in my case) to increase the volume, and after 2-3 secs, first release Fn, then release F3. If you open plasma-pa widget to control the volume, you can see the slider keeps moving right, even though I bring it to the left. In order to "stop" the bug, I have to hit another random key. Note that this also happens if I enable the hotkey mode in the BIOS (meaning that pressing F3 alone increases the volume). Some other (possibly related) information: if I record the bug with SimpleScreenRecorder, it keeps giving some warning: "Too many audio samples, dropping samples to keep the audio in sync with the video." IMPORTANT: This also happens DECREASING the volume (the volume slider would keep going from right to left if I drag it). Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.60.0 Qt Version: 5.13.0 Kernel Version: 5.2.5-arch1-1-ARCH OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz Memory: 7.6 GiB
Are you using Wayland or X11? It seems an like issue with global shortcuts.

I get the same in Kubuntu with default shortcuts. Operating System: Kubuntu 19.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.56.0 Qt Version: 5.12.2 Kernel Version: 5.0.0-29-generic OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz Memory: 7,6 GiB of RAM
Persists in Kubuntu 19.10 with Plasma 5.17.1. Quite annoying Operating System: Kubuntu 19.10 KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.62.0 Qt Version: 5.12.4 Kernel Version: 5.3.0-19-generic OS Type: 64-bit
This bug persists in Kubuntu 20.04 and Ubuntu 20.04. Thus, I think the bug might be related to lower-level components (Alsa, Pulseaudio, I don't know...). The bug doesn't happen in Windows.
Is this still a problem?
