I have read the thread. No this is a Neon package problem. The media player support is enabled by default in digiKam. FFmpeg and QtAV are needed. Maik

If the neon package do not work, use the AppImage bundle instead that we provide with QtAv support... https://download.kde.org/stable/digikam/6.2.0/ Gilles Caulier
Yes, I am using the AppImage now. But you do know that that is not a long-term solution? Automatic and easy updates are a core feature in Linux, AppImages defy that behaviour. Should I report this against KDE Neon somewhere? Isn't there some communication within KDE to resolve such problems?
A long term solution. Seriously for each digiKam release we provide immediately an AppImage bundle... how long distro Linux update digiKam package ???? Anyway, Neon has a section in bugzilla
