Operating System: KDE neon 5.16 KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.60.0 Qt Version: 5.12.3 OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 6 × AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor Memory: 7,7 GiB Elisa in Neon user Edition cant stop indexing. In Manjaro indexing 981 file, I have 10000 music file, cant stop indexig. I have define partition in fstab, define in Elisa program setting. Elisa corect work in old version plasma 5.15.x Calculate-Kde (Gentoo)
Are you saying that your music is on another partition and you have Elisa set up to look there? What is the filesystem of that partition? NTFS, EXT4, or something else? What happens if you trigger a manual re-indexing (Hamburger menu > Refresh Music Collection)
My music collection is on the NTFS partition. The program indexes and never stops, I tried what you suggest, but there are no results. Of the approximately 11000 (1TB) music files, the program manages to index a maximum of 1800 files. Clemetine thoroughly finds and indexes all the files, I also tried Lollypop and it works correctly. Elisa relies on baloo and in 2 hours fails to find the files. I've tried multiple distributions just doesn't work right. I gave up more than unsuccessful attempts to use the program. I have a lot of CDs, originals, bought in Canada, prefered Narada production, the CD drive becomes unreliable after 2-3 years of use and that's why I transferred the files from the CD to disk in flac or mp3 format.
Thanks for the info!
Finally the program finds the music files, a baloo update has arrived. The program does not detect .cue + .flac files. I must to make a .flac music file with the flac program and only then does the elisa recognize the music file. For me, the program is a huge disappointment, the program can serve children to listen to mp3 files. For me, the program is a big disappointment, I wanted to have a tidy collection of music, but it's impossible. I don't understand that no one knows how to make a player like windows foobar2000 that knows all possible music formats e.g. iso.wv format
I also have my music library on a NTFS partition (because I share it on my dual boot and NTFS is the only filesystem that can be read from both and supports permissions in Windows). Elisa did not add songs from this partition to library at all. Triggering a manual re-indexing did nothing. The problem is caused by the fact I excluded this drive from the search indexer (Baloo). After removing this drive from the "do not search in these locations" list, and setting this drive to auto mount at login, Elisa was able to add these files to the library correctly. I think a check should be implemented, or maybe it should be reworked to not rely on Baloo at all.
Can you try again with Elisa 19.12.1? We think we've fixed this now.
