Created attachment 121780 [details] Pictures archive of the bug occuring. SUMMARY Hello, well as explained, when I go to the editor settings for highlighting text styles, and check the underline attribute, for example ISO C++ "Keyword", the underlined text gets unchecked when I apply settings it does not save my configuration. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open KDevelop or Kate 2. Go to the editor settings 3. Check under highlighting text styles the underline setting box, apply settings. OBSERVED RESULT The underlined text gets unchecked when I apply settings and it does not save my configuration. EXPECTED RESULT My text should be underlined and my configuration be saved. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: 5.2.2 (built from source) KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54.0 Qt Version: 5.11.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION It would be cool to know if anyone have the same problem as me, if it's specific to me, or just in general. As apparently I'm not the only one: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kate/+bug/919323 I expect it to be general. I added pictures in the attachments but it should be pretty clear of what is happening. Thanks for reading.
I've moved to KDE Neon, and eveything seems to work fine, I don't really know why it happened but I suspect of some the configurations not working properly
I have the same problem in Kate 23.08.5. Theme Editor on pressing Apply resets .theme-file without applying changes.
(In reply to Victor from comment #2) > I have the same problem in Kate 23.08.5. > Theme Editor on pressing Apply resets .theme-file without applying changes. Cannot reproduce in Kate 24.12.3 or in KDevelop 6.3.250770 after copying a theme as a hint on the Highlighting Text Styles tab suggests. Once changed, the Underlined checkbox remains checked and the configured code is underlined accordingly. Though checking the Underlined checkbox is not always possible in the first place (need to change some other option on the same line first for some reason).

I have rechecked and for Kate 23.08.5 the problem still exist. Any changes in Settings -> Colors Themes -> Highlighting Text Styles are inapplicable. I can save video if you want.

Kate 23.08 is based on KF5 and no longer supported. Certainly no more 23.08.x releases are planned. See https://invent.kde.org/utilities/kate/-/commits/release%2F23.08 If the bug cannot be reproduced in newer Kate or KDevelop versions, it should be resolved as fixed.
