Do you set the in/out zone on the timeline?
If not pleaes do so and try again.
If this is not woring try the Kdenlive_Standalone version 19.04.2-6 from here https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/

Sorry for late response.

I tried selecting the zone on the timeline and under the preview of the video. Both attemts failed.
I tried it on the newest version 19.08.01 / MLT 6.16.0 / Win10 1903 (Build 18362.356)
Comment 5 emohr 2019-09-11 15:07:55 UTC
Do you have special character in the clip name or in the path name to the clips like "ö", "é" ? If so please make a tes without special character.
Comment 6 xtrembug 2019-09-14 18:15:06 UTC
Hello emohr.
Yes I had "special" characters in the names of my clips which I used in my video. After deleting this clips I was able to render the part. So I assume I am not able to use my beloved ä in my projects anymore.

Thanks for your hälp. ;)
Comment 7 xtrembug 2019-09-14 18:37:50 UTC
Oh I discovered a new cause when it is not rendering the selected part.
I saw that some of my clips have a lower frame rate.
If I make a project with 30fps and use clips with 25fps it wont render either.

Same issue. Last working versino was 19.04.x, but kdenlive always said "failed", but it worked.

No special characters in files.

Project 30fps, video file 59.9401 -> does not work.
Project 60fps, video file 59.9401 -> does not work.
Project 30fps, video file 30 fps -> works but the rendered selection is wrong.
Comment 9 Frederick Koehler 2020-01-09 03:56:12 UTC
See the same issue under Fedora 31 with kdenlive-19.08.2-1.fc31.x86_64 where the 'Selected zone' and 'Guide zone' options produce ~1 second render job without usable output (but the same job works fine when rendered over the full project). Tried options rendering to a file as well as scripts. Tried changing the profile frame rate. Tried reading in older projects and repeated the same issue. Would be happy just with a work-around... it's actually a useful feature to have available. I often render a big school concert twice...once with every group performing (for the school) and a second time selecting just the section with the ensemble that includes performers in our family (for our video library).

I see the same issue, but when the selected zone starts at the begining of the timeline, it works.

Can you please update to the latest version (https://kdenlive.org/en/download/) and report here whether this is still happening? Btw do you use the appimage? (It is recommended)
Comment 12 farid 2021-03-05 16:24:15 UTC
It is working in latest version. Please test using latest AppImage and reopen if you encounter any issues.
