Description smokythebearonthemountain 2019-07-23 07:11:31 UTC
SUMMARY

When using ksysguard 5.16.2 on either OpenSUSE Tumbleweed or Manjaro (stable), it is not possible to sort the process table by the name of the process, the username, or the window title. Clicking any of these column headers produces an up or down arrow as expected, but the process entries themselves are not sorted and instead appear in an undefined order with no obvious pattern.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. With the process table tab active, click on either 'Name,' 'Username,' or 'Window Title.'
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT

The list of processes will appear in an undefined order.

EXPECTED RESULT

The list of processes should be sorted be name, username, or window title depending on the column header selected.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: tested on both openSUSE Tumbleweed and Manjaro KDE, both versions current as of 23 July 2019. American English language is active in both cases.
KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.59.0
Qt Version: 5.13.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Christoph Feck 2019-08-14 23:43:33 UTC
Cannot reproduce on current openSUSE Krypton. Both the Ctrl+Esc process list, as well as ksysguard process table allow sorting by process name or window title.

The only issue I see is that sorting is case-sensitive, which might be expected for the process names, but certainly not for the window titles.
Comment 2 Christoph Cullmann 2024-09-23 20:59:43 UTC
ksysguard is no longer maintained, in Plasma 6 there is the Plasma system monitor for this task.

If your issue still happens with the Plasma 6 replacement, please re-open and we can move this bug to the new product, thanks!
