(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kmail Version: 1.3.1 (using KDE 2.2.1 ) Severity: wishlist Installed from: SuSE Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.16-4GB OS/Compiler notes: I would find it useful if the messages in the index window were numbered starting with 1 to the left of the subject column. (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Called from KBugReport dialog)
For IMAP users, message number is particularly important. It would be very useful to have the message nubmer available in the KMail client (like it is in Mulberry, for example), and to have the ability to sort mail by NUMBER. This is really really useful because people sometimes send email (particularly SPAM) with ancient dates (like 2002), which means if you are sorting by DATE, they end up nowhere in sight. Ordering by number allows you to actually see your mail in the order it was received.
Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented. Thank you for your understanding.
Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
Still valid.
