Created attachment 121604 [details] A direct comparison (Canvas zoom=100%) SUMMARY It looks very nice in the Text Editor, but not on the actual canvas. Exporting it as any image file doesn't make any difference. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: Win7 (x64) macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Please share the actual .kra file, since this is very likely to do with the image dimensions and dpi
Created attachment 121609 [details] kra It's 1754x2480 / 72dpi, font size 24. Is it impossible to get a finer render with this settings?
72 dp is very, very low. Probably lower than your actual screen resolution. And given that the text is really very small, it's normal that it shows up pixelated. Remember that Krita renders the vectors not at the maximum sharpness the output device allows, but on the pixels of your raster image.
Created attachment 121615 [details] Capture When I copy paste the same-sized text on the canvas as a raster image (It's from the Text Editor) it looks fine though. And when I increase the dpi I need to make the font size number smaller in order to get the size that I want anyway. When people need to make any type of comics I'm very sure that they need to create tiny texts on the canvas. I'm not reopening the bug, but it'd be nice of you to consider improving the font rendering. Cheers.
We cannot improve the font rendering, since we haven't written the code that renders the font.
