STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use elliptical selection tool 2. Make at least 4 (add) selections 3. I've never seen that happening ever. On each new selection there is no change in the previous displayed selection. On a second investigation: This behaviour seems to be expected on small images since I could reproduce it easily on krita 3.3.3, however for it to happen the image size has to be extremely small (on my tests, 50 x 50). The selection display quality does not affect the effective selected area. Could you tell me How big is your image size in pixels? (width x height).

You are right - part of the canvas was pretty small and in this size it doesn't matter if it looks octagonal - performance will remain the same. My bad - sorry for inconvenience.
