Check for new mail on startup does not work if akonadi wasn't running prior to starting KMail. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Ensure "Check mail on startup" under "Retrieval Options" is checked for account 2. Make sure a different folder from inbox is selected 3. Quit KMail and stop akonadi with "akonadictl stop" 4. Put a new mail in inbox through some other mail client / webmail. 5. Start KMail and observe that no new mail is found in inbox (unless the folder is selected or if KMail starts with it selected) 6. Quit KMail but leave akonadi around 7. Add another new mail 8. Start KMail and observe that the new mail was found
