Screenshot of the issue

SUMMARY
If I open any widget for the first time, I can see its content just fine, but making second and other attempts results into showing a popup with an empty content with a weird glitch on second screen.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open any widget (e.g. calendar)
2. Open it again

OBSERVED RESULT
See attached screenshot.

EXPECTED RESULT
See the widget content properly.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 30
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: Plasma 5.16.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.59
Qt Version: 5.12.4 (+ backported patches for qtwayland)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I have a setup with three screens, the first one is my laptop with 4k screen (2x scaling set), rest of screens are regular full HD displays (no scaling). I think this issue is not reproducible or not reproducible that often when I have just the laptop screen, I will verify.
Comment 1 Jan Grulich 2019-07-11 09:36:47 UTC
Just tested with single screen and the issue is not reproducible, only in multi-screen setup and I think I have seen this issue even with older Plasma versions (definitely with Plasma 5.15.x).
Comment 2 Jan Grulich 2019-07-11 12:53:15 UTC
David, this seems to be related to your Qt fix https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qtwayland/+/265999. With this applied on top of Qt 5.12.4, I can reproduce it, if I disable that patch in our qtwayland in Fedora, then it's not happening. Problem is that without that patch I have problem with menus showing up (https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-76324).
Comment 3 Jan Grulich 2019-07-15 07:54:55 UTC
It looks that the commit in qtbase making the menus not showing has been reverted. David, does it mean that it's safe not to apply that patch I mentioned which makes the widget not showing for me?

Cannot reproduce in current git master with Qt 5.15.2. Can you?
