Description Marvin Hagemeister 2019-07-08 07:34:31 UTC
SUMMARY

I do a lot of web development and for that I find myself often in the situation to only screenshot certain areas instead of a complete window or the full screen.
Inside spectacle's main window there is a dropdown option for capture mode and it only lists "Full Screen" or "Window Under Cursor" for me. So I guess this issue is sort of a feature request to only capture parts of the screen.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open spectacle
2. Click on the "Area" dropdown
3. Only 2 Options are available ("Full Screen" and "Window Under Cursor")

OBSERVED RESULT

When pressing the "print" button my cursor turns into a cross and I was expecting that drawing a rectangle with the mouse would overlay a marquee and screenshot only that area. Instead nothing happens and the full screen is captured.

EXPECTED RESULT

Drawing a rectangle with the mouse would display an overlay with the selected region and capture only that.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
