Description radimir.cacic09 2019-07-07 18:07:16 UTC
SUMMARY

I have a huge issue with Latte dock.
The problem is very high CPU usage.

Whenever I download files using a browser or moving/deleting files with Dolphin, Latte dock starts eating my CPU and my fans start spinning fast.

Why is that?

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu with Plasma 5.16.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.59.0
Qt Version: 5.12.2

Yes, I use Nvidia proprietary graphics driver version 418.56.

Nvidia proprietary and Plasma do not play well, in future things may improve

Same issue you will also have with plasma panels.

High CPU usage comes from the progress animation. If you manage to disable the progress animations then high CPU usage will not hit your system

Thanks for the clarification.

Do you have any idea how can I disable progress animations?

only by disabling applets that use them
