Description ralph.goddard@outlook.com 2019-07-06 20:07:57 UTC
SUMMARY
I have been using Kmymoney for about a year and I notice the OFX files from the bank are taking longer & longer to process. I assume Kmymoney is checking its entire database to validate entries. Not sure this platform will be useful to me in a few more years unless there is some improvement in this regard.

EXPECTED RESULT
Quicken never seemed to have this problem, to this degree, with 7+ years of data.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10pro 64bit latest updates

I'm guessing something else is wrong. I've been using KMM for almost 15
years and have over 18k transactions and when I download from all 10 or 11
of my online banking accounts it takes 10 to 12 seconds. Individually each
takes 2 or 3 seconds.

I am running the latest version of KMM compiled from the 5.0 branch of the
source code and I'm running on Linux so there are 2 major difference
between our systems.

Have you tried running the latest KMM 5 for Windows? There have been some
postings about where to get it.

Are all banks equally slow?

What have you set the start date of import to? Try to shorten it an see if
that helps (some banks seem to ignore this setting).

What happens if you download the OXF or QFX file and then manually import
it into KMM?

I am not a developer, just trying to help.

Thanks, good to know. A single download can take up to 30+ seconds.

Please to not take the assignment of a bug from the team responsible for the application. Even if you plan to submit an MR to fix the bug, there are better ways to express your interest and intent.
Comment 4 ralph.goddard@outlook.com 2023-10-31 02:21:17 UTC
I am the originator of this problem. My current Version 5.1.0-7d5a4f9f3 is fast with no problems. I assumed the bug was fixed and this report would have been flagged as completed and archived.
