Created attachment 121280 [details] a screenshot of the corner when hovered Random app launches when top-left corner is clicked. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Log in. 2. Click the top-left corner. 3. Random app (although, it stays the same for the whole session and changes randomly after changing session) launches. OBSERVED RESULT Random app launches (in most cases, something that's in the tray e.g. telegram-desktop as I'm typing). EXPECTED RESULT Show open apps if setup in screen edges. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.1.8-1-MANJARO (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.59.0 Qt Version: 5.12.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The random app seems to be some app that's launched during boot and is currently in the tray. If I quit that app in the tray, the app to launch from corner changes.
I can intermittently reproduce this. For me, it seems to happen most often when KWin crashes and is re-launched. Can you run `xprop` and then click on the top-left-most corner pixel, then paste the output into a comment here?
xprop XdndAware(ATOM) = ATOM
Weirdly enough, the bug is not present right now.
If you can get KWin to crash, you may be able to reproduce it again. That's usually how I can get it to happen.
As far as I know, KWin should not launch any application in this case. Though to be honest I don't fully understand what the problem is and how to reproduce it, but I doubt it's KWin-related.
This is not KWin related. KWin can neither launch applications nor does it register any left click in top-left corner. This sounds like a problem with status notifiers. Please ensure the xembedsniproxy is running.
> RESOLVED NOT A BUG That isn't the correct resolution status. Two people have experienced the issue and it's not yet fixed. Maybe it's not a KWin problem, but then the bug should be moved elsewhere so it doesn't get lost. This is bugs.kde.org, not bugs.kwin.org. I'm moving the bug to plasmashell for now so we can continue the investigation. Sayantan, the next time you experience this, can you see whether or not xembedsniproxy is running?

I'll let you know if it happens again.

It's happening again. And yes, xembedsniproxy is running. pgrep xembedsniproxy 1210
