Description ITicDigger 2019-07-01 07:03:48 UTC
SUMMARY
It would be very convenient to be able to quickly remove the audio track from a video clip or add a video clip to the timeline immediately without an audio track. When I make a music video, I usually try to reduce the timeline as much as possible in order to increase the project monitor as much as possible. I compress the timeline to such a size that only 2 tracks fit - video and music. But when I add a new video clip, I have to increase the timeline to 4 tracks, since audio track No. 1 is already taken. Then you have to do ungroup and delete the audio track of the added video clip. Then again reduce the height of the timeline to two tracks. If it were possible to add video without a soundtrack, this would speed up the process considerably.

You can just bring videos to the timeline. Either with the mouse via drag/drop from the ClipMonitor or directly from the ProjectBin: See here: https://kdenlive.org/en/2019/04/kdenlive-19-04-released/ under Monitor " Shortcut icon in clip monitor to drag only the audio or only the video of a clip in timeline." and under Project Bin, " Shortcut icon to drag only the audio or only the video of a clip in timeline.".

From 19.04 on everything goes with keyboard shortcuts as well. Select a video or audio track (up/down arrow key) and set as target (the green vertical lines on the track head) on/off (shift + t) and active (a, V1 turns yellow). If the audio track is turned off as the target (no green line): use v or b to insert only the video on the selected track. shortcut t switches between Timeline and ClipMonitor.

Thank. How to drag only video or only audio from Project Bin I figured out. Icons for drag and drop are small, but generally convenient.
