Description Lukas Remis 2019-06-22 08:44:44 UTC
SUMMARY

What the hell has just happend to Kdenlive ? I've updated to 19.04.2, and the program is unusable. The performance is a disaster. It's not possible to playback two overlayed video tracks without lags and jumpy sound. (I'm using 16 Core Ryzen, 64 GB RAM, SSD Drive).

And, on top of that, I can't move with the started project to older version, because the file format is incompatible between version.

That's the best way to loose users.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 19.04.2f to see if there are any packaging issues https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/

If the problem/issue doesn't occur when using the AppImage, then it's your configuration or packaging.
Comment 2 Lukas Remis 2019-06-22 11:48:33 UTC
I am using that version, from appimage. No change in performance. Version 18 was working incomparably better.

It could be that you have some left over from a previous Kdenlive installation.

Delete Kdenliverc, kdenliveui.rc and kdenlive-appimagerc to make sure you have no left over from a previous Kdenlive version. Details see here: https://community.kde.org/Kdenlive/Configuration.

Maybe delete this files as well: /usr/share/config.kcfg, kdenlivesettings.kcfg
Comment 4 Julius Künzel 2021-03-24 15:46:43 UTC
Can you please update to the latest version (20.12.3 at the moment, https://kdenlive.org/en/download/) and report here whether this is still happening?

Please take also @emohr's instructions above into account
