When I am finished with editing, I always press the ESC key, then nothing happens, then I think of an undescribed word and press Ctl-w. Can the closing of a view be unified, preferably with the ESC key?
Dialog windows can be closed with ESC. This is a main window with menu etc. as well as the Editor, BQM or the Import window. The "New Message" window in KMail will also be quit with Ctrl-W. We use a standard KF5 function to get the shortcut key. However, under the Settings-> Configure Shortcuts... in the Light Table window, you have the option to set an alternative shortcut key (for example, ESC) to close the window. Maik
The additional definition of the ESC key did indeed help.
