Description cat22 2019-06-17 14:02:38 UTC
SUMMARY
Konsole constantly reverts back to Breeze even tho I set it to Linux colors. If I edit the current profile from Konsole, it always creates a new Profile. I have shutdown every instance of Konsole and edited the profile directly (using kate) and that works for awhile, but then it switches back to Breeze again or it ignores the Default profile and creates a "Profile X.profile" where each edit increases X by 1 so "Profile 1.profile" "Profile 2.profile" "Profile 3.profile" etc
I have struggled with this for awhile but cant get it stabilized
Note: i always make sure there is only one Konsole window open when i change the profile or that they are all closed and then edit the profile file directly using Kate
I cant switch profiles because the only choice is always default, the other profiles are there but not shown i the 'Switch Profiles' submenu

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
I really don't know how to reproduce it except to open konsole windows and everything is fine for awhile and then if i open another window its changed back to Breeze or sometimes a reboot causes it to change back to Breeze colors

OBSERVED RESULT

EXPECTED RESULT
Edit the current profile, do not change create a new profile unless i change it myself

Breeze is the internal default color scheme. So if Konsole can't find any profiles, it will set any tabs to Breeze.

Profiles that are created are stored in ~/.local/share/konsole/

~/.config/konsolerc is the main Konsole config file.

I would suggest creating a new profile with Linux Colors; set it to default in the Configure->Profiles dialog. Close Konsole and restart, your Linux Colors default profile should open.

Does that work, k3bBug?
Comment 3 cat22 2019-07-17 13:14:08 UTC
There is already profile files in there and I edited the color scheme, we'll see how that works. Profiles 1 & 2 & 3 are the result of editing the current profile. There is no reason for those to exist, they were created by trying to edit the Default profile (changed the scroll back etc) apparently its happy with this arrangement as I haven't seen it revert to breeze in awhile but there is definitely a bug in this whole thing but it seems its only triggered in some circumstances

Default.profile
Linux.colorscheme
Oxygen1.colorscheme
Profile 1.profile
Profile 2.profile
Profile 3.profile

I have not had further trouble in 2 weeks. Maybe an update changed things or when i rebooted (I reboot after zypper does big updates) it settled down. i cant say its gone but its quiet for now
