I can't reproduce any problem. What ISBN are you entering (978- or 979-?) and how are you entering it? (typing one digit at a time, copy/paste, etc)?
The ISBN is 5800-1344-1985-4. I have tried both pasting it in, as well as entering it digit by digit. When I get to the ninth digit, Tellico generates the checksum digit (tenth for a 10-digit ISBN) and blocks farther entry.
My understanding is that 13-digit ISBN values for books all start with 978 or 979. Is there anything about the book that would make it non-standard?
Printed by Lulu. Presumably, they have been given a valid series.
I'm sorry. I don't think your ISBN is valid. It has to start with 978 or 979 according to the standard. https://www.isbn-international.org/content/what-isbn I'm not sure why Lulu would have assigned such an ISBN. Their FAQ implies they do use 978 prefixes. https://connect.lulu.com/en/discussion/234381
Thank you, and sorry for the bother. I have contacted Lulu to find out what's going on.
For information, I found the same issue with several books that were given for 2 other books bought. For example “Une vie merveilleuse” by Laurie Collins (Editor: Le Livre de Poche) They display the (pretended) ISBN# on the back of the book: “ISBN : 301-0-000-03813-9” The ISBN# for the buyable book is 978-2-253-06696-5 (but the cover is very slight different as the gift book has a small patch saying it’s 1 free for 2 bought). I was ready to open a bug for that but I saw this ticket : Does anyone know how to open a bug on the editor side? /o\
