Description jimbo 2019-06-12 04:38:39 UTC
SUMMARY
The user thinking Krita has just opened to the landing page can click on the 'recent documents' leading Krita opening multiple documents.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a large .kra file
2. When Krita opens start clicking 'Recent Documents'

OBSERVED RESULT
No loading screen for the document, landing page is active

EXPECTED RESULT
Loading screen for the document, landing page is disabled

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This can lead to confusion if the user sees the file they want in 'Recent Documents' and clicks it (because nothing has opened yet). Now two of the same documents are open and while editing one document, if the user switches to the other document it seems like all changes have been 'deleted'.

There's no specific lock here, which might be useful, yes.
Comment 2 Tiar 2020-12-11 19:09:31 UTC
It's fixed on master, maybe we could backport the locking/disabling widget code to krita/4.3 when/if we plan a new release.
Comment 3 Tiar 2021-08-16 18:41:28 UTC
Fixed in Krita 5.0.
