Description Martin Steigerwald 2019-06-09 11:03:37 UTC
SUMMARY
On first start albums, artists and songs views are empty even tough path with music is set properly. "Refresh music collection has no effect".

On second start albums, artists and songs views are populated.

This is with Baloo disabled (currently crashes too much on my Debian Unstable setup).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Disable Baloo.
2. Make sure no old configuration files for Elisa are around
3. Start once
4. Albums, artists and songs views are empty.
5. Close Elisa.
6. Start Elisa again
7. Albums, artists and songs views are populated.

OBSERVED RESULT
Albums, artists and songs views are empty on first start.

EXPECTED RESULT
Albums, artists and songs views are populated on first start already.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Elisa 0.4.0
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.5.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54
Qt Version: 5.11.3

(I know a bit outdated, Debian is currently still in hard freeze due in order to release it.]

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Martin Steigerwald 2019-06-09 16:33:32 UTC
Happens for the maintainer of the Debian package of elisa also with activated Baloo. So it does not seem to matter whether Baloo is activated or not for this bug.
Comment 2 James Cain 2020-02-22 06:18:21 UTC
Additionally, at least in my case, when Elisa is (re)started I get the added bonus of my "recently played" and "frequently played" data disappearing, and my whole collection needing to be re-scanned as if added for the first time.
Comment 3 Matthieu Gallien 2020-03-19 22:44:30 UTC
Do you still reproduce this bug ?

I would believe that the 19.12.3 as packaged in Debian do not suffer from this bug.
Comment 4 Martin Steigerwald 2020-03-22 15:27:32 UTC
I just removed ~/.config/elisarc as well as ~/.local/share/elisa and started Elisa. It automatically picks up the songs from the music directory.

This is with Baloo enabled. I did not test it without Baloo as at the moment Baloo works nicely for me.

So for me it's good.

Could you please open a separate issue for the "recently played" and "frequently played" data disappearing ?

I would like to close this one if it is not reproducible also by you.
