SUMMARY When I search for "cash" using Discover, 0 programs are returned from the search. However, when I search for "gnucash", I find gnucash (as one would expect). The search function should be fixed so that the entire name of programs are checked for the search-key STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Discover. 2. Search for "gnucash". 3. Clear your search bar. 4. Search for "cash". OBSERVED RESULT searching for "gnucash" yields a 1 result (the gnucash program) searching for "cash" yields 0 results. EXPECTED RESULT I expected that searching for "cash" would have returned the gnucash program, and perhaps others. #--------------------------------------- System info: Kernel V 4.9.0.9-amd64 SMP Debian 4.9.168-1+deb9u2 (2019-05-13) KDE Plasma 5.8.6 KDE Framework 5.28.0 Qt 5.7.1 64 bit OS AMD FX-4100 Quad Core 22 GB DDR3
You're using an ancient version of Discover. Searching for "cash" finds GNUCash for me just fine with 5.15 and 5.16. Please considering upgrading to a newer version of Debian, or using a distro that provides more up-to-date software versions.
