SUMMARY It looks like loading a .mlt file updates the project profile, and I can't seem to turn this behavior off. I have already de-selected Kdenlive's feature of checking the first clip loaded into a project, as well as loading a clip with the same properties as the profile I want, but still, as soon as I load a .mlt file with different properties, the whole projects profile changes. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a project with 1080 x 1920 x 30fps 2. Load a clip that has 1920 x 1080 x 30fps (Notice this is vertical HD, common on mobile phones, but I want to edit it to horizontal HD, add background, etc.) 3. Stabilize the clip with a clip job (Mobile phone footage is normally shaky) 4. Load output .mlt file into the project OBSERVED RESULT Project profile has now changed to 1920 x 1080 (Vertical HD), and there is no way to change it back. Also, I seem to be gaining a project profile called "Automatic", and losing the desired project profile from my list of profiles. EXPECTED RESULT Project profile to be left to the settings that I set it. Has anyone looked at this? Vertical footage from cellphones is quite common. This footage being shaky is also common. This bug prevents vertical footage being used in a horizontal project, as it corrupts the project's settings. It is very easy to reproduce. 1. Take a small vertical clip with a smartphone. 2. Start a horizontal project. 3. Import the vertical clip, and try to stabilize it.

Confirmed. I opened issue https://invent.kde.org/kde/kdenlive/issues/266
This issue is now resolved. Thank you very much, JB!
