Description nickagodridge2 2019-06-05 13:44:31 UTC
SUMMARY
Regardless of whether the media was paused automatically, or manually before suspending the computer, playback will begin immediately upon reaching the lightdm login screen during a resume. I have the setting "pause media players when suspending" enabled, media resumes at login screen whether or not it was paused manually.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have any media controllable through lightdm pre-login media controls, youtube for instance, open and paused
2. suspend computer
3. resume computer

OBSERVED RESULT
Paused Media automatically begins playing immediately at the lightdm resume login screen

EXPECTED RESULT
Media stays paused until interacted with manually

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 30, last updated June 5th 2019
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.58.0
Qt Version: 5.12.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I've seen other bug reports of this marked as 'resolved' after users are pointed to the "pause media players when suspending" option, media however will resume automatically regardless of whether it was paused manually or by this option.

Those users are likely using SDDM instead of LightDM.

We no longer use lightDM, having moved to SDDM several years ago. As such, this bug report is no longer applicable. Bugs reports for the new SDDM-based login screen should be filed to one of two places:

1. Visual/UI bugs with the login screen UI itself, or feature requests: plasmashell | Theme - Breeze
2. Bugs with the login/user switching process: https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues
