Description Rainer Finke 2019-06-03 21:06:47 UTC
If notifications are shown once on Plasma Wayland, they cannot be viewed again. Sometimes the hole notification area will not show any information anymore and becomes inaccessible, but e.g. the calendar will be shown without any issues. This worked OK previously with the old notification system, so this seems like a regression.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Copy a big file and paste it to another folder
2. Hide the popup notification or minimize it

OBSERVED RESULT
You cannot view the notification area again even if it must be there.

EXPECTED RESULT
Show the notification area on Wayland.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma: 5.15.90
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.58
Qt Version: 5.13 beta4

Isn't it accessible in the system tray popup? Can you take a screenshot or do an explanatory video? I don't really understand what the issue is.

I think I'm experiencing something similar, in a Wayland session the system tray is not usable after some time (in my experience I can use it more than once).
The system tray is there and the icons are "updating" but if I click on them the corresponding "applet" is not shown.
To be more precise, the blue line animation is displayed, but no popup/applet appears.

If possible can you test with https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qtwayland/+/265997

I can not reproduce the issue on Plasma 5.16.4
Actually since few minor revisions, sorry for the delay.
