Map is greyed.

SUMMARY
When pictures are not yet Geotagged, the MAP area turns into grey, and it's not possible to easily place the pictures there.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. From Thumbnail tab, select a few pictures NOT geotagged
2. Drag them to the MAP area...
3. ... and drop where you want them to be Geotagged.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens. Pictures are still not Geotagged.

EXPECTED RESULT
The picture should get the Geo positionning of where they are dropped on the MAP area.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
many others Picture managers allow that workflow : Picasa, Darktable, LR, etc...

I think we already have this as a wish. You found the geolocation editor? There you can drag and drop the images from the list onto the map.

Hi Maik, yes i found the geotagging dedicated editor, but i was much tempted to geotag directly from the Thumbnail tab. I would find that new workflow very natural.

Hello guys,

Do you think we could improve Digikam easyness by allowing to Drag&Drop pictures from "Thumbnails" central view to "Map" sideview ?
Without having to open the Map Editor central view.
