SUMMARY Stem audio export seems to be broken. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Try exporting audio stems. You'll end up having a single audio file. OBSERVED RESULT Kdenlive renders a single mixed-down stereo audio file. (Basically this checkbox is not doing anything right now) EXPECTED RESULT Kdenlive should render separate audio tracks SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.58.0 Qt Version: 5.12.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Thank you for your hard work. I do enjoy using the latest release! Keep up the good work
I assume you would be able to export via stem-audio-export each audio track in a separate wave file like descripted here: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=271&t=130071. Correct? I made a short test and this is not working in Kdenlive as some “plug-in” are missing. I found some info about stem here: https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2015/12/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-new-stem-audio-file-format/. Seems an open file format.
Maybe, it was my fault not to mention that I'd been using this feature for years. I can't go back now to check it, because of some dependencies, but I'm quite sure this feature was working with kdenlive version 18.12.3 I just updated my system but I've neither installed nor removed any 'plug-ins'. I didn't upgrade it between the two dates but this must have gone wrong somewhere around here. As a workaround, I manually muted the other tracks and exported them individually, which is really not convenient.
Confirmed. Stem-Audio-Export doesn’t work in 19.04 anymore. I opened issue: https://invent.kde.org/kde/kdenlive/issues/211 BTW: you can run old versions of Kdenlive using the AppImage. Choose one from the Download page: https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/
