Description cornellg 2019-05-28 11:07:59 UTC
SUMMARY
When adapting an existing brush that has tags assigned to it for proper management, the new brush will not inherit the old brushes tags. This forces the user to go through the tedious steps of finding the new brush in the "All" brushes preset in order to get it back to the tag where it belongs.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In the Brush Presets Docker, select a tag, then pick a brush.
2. Edit the brush presets (this is not needed to test the behaviour).
3. Click "Save New Brush Preset" and save the brush.

OBSERVED RESULT
Notice the new brush is not automatically added to the tag you are currently using.

EXPECTED RESULT
It would be much nicer to have the new brush added to the tag you are working with, as 9 times out of 10, this is where you will want the modification of the old brush to appear anyway. And if not, then removing the tag from the brush is faster than having to locate the brush and add the tag.

In practice, the flow of the process of quickly creating new custom brush presets on the fly is greatly diminished as every new brush must be hunted down and herded back to where it belongs. It will take less than 20 seconds but will feel like hitting an annoying obstacle that interrupts the painting process.

Even better, but no doubt more work to implement, would be having the ability to see the brush's tags while editing and being able to alter them as part of the editing process. This would be particularly handy when using brushes in multiple sets (tags).
