SUMMARY
(unfinished) commands are executed when terminal auto synchronizes working directory with kate 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.  using kate with the terminal plugin enabled, multiple files from different directories opened and terminal directory sync enabled
2. type a command into the terminal plugin
3. switch to a different file (for example to copy a string) in another directory

OBSERVED RESULT
terminal changes working directory and executes the typed command without warning

EXPECTED RESULT
warning, cut the command before switching and insert it afterwards or atleast cancel the command

only tried this with split view, also maybe this is a konsole/terminalplugin bug? dolphin bug 161637 is somewhat related
