Description lucky7tube 2019-05-21 21:10:23 UTC
SUMMARY
File open dialog for "Add Clip" action does not show root directory but current directory of each disk drive when trying to browse topmost directory.
Windows OS has "Disk Drive" concept, and each drive has its own current directory.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the CMD prompt.
2. Type in "d:" except quotation marks, and press ENTER
3. Type in "cd \MusicClips" except quotation marks, and press ENTER
4. Type in "\Program Files\Kdenlive-19.04.1\bin\Kdenlive" with quotation marks, and press ENTER
5. Select Add Clip action (Project menu > Add Clip) or (Just click a small button on the left top corner of project bin)
6. In the "File Open Dialog", select drive D among hard disk drives.
7. Contents in the browsing area is ones of D:\MusicClips directory
8. Click the "^" button to navigate to the parent directory (In this case, root directory of D drive)
9. The contents of browsing area are STILL ONES OF PREVIOUS DIRECTORY (means Kdenlive process's current directory of drive D)
10. Type in "D:\MovieClips" except quotation marks, directly into the "Name" field and press ENTER to move to and browse D:\MovieClips directory

OBSERVED RESULT
1. Navigating to a root directory shows contents in "current" directory
2. File Open Dialog is closed when enter an absolute path of a directory in the "Name" field. (Previous version shows the content of type-in directory in this case)

EXPECTED RESULT
1. Navigating to top(root) directory of each drive should show the contents of actual root directory.
For example, the parent directory of "C:\Users" is "C:\" not "C:"

"C:\" is the root directory of drive C
"C:" is the (process's) current directory of drive C
They are different.
Kdenlive the latter in case of user intend the former.
