SUMMARY I'm having 2 layouts, and they're configured to switch per application(System settings > Input Devices > Keyboard > Layouts > Switching Policy is set to Application). When screen is locked, it uses last used layout(layout of focused application). I don't sure how it works in general, but I think kscreenlocker should use it's own layout, so you can use the same key combination to unlock it(without needing to check current layout and switching it each time). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set System settings > Input Devices > Keyboard > Layouts > Switching Policy to "Application" 2. Switch layout of the currently focused app 3. Lock the screen OBSERVED RESULT kscreenlocker uses layout from app EXPECTED RESULT layout should be the same and don't depend on what layout do you have outside kscreenlocker SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.57.0 Qt Version: 5.12.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
X specific, doesn't reproduce on Wayland
Could you retest if it still the issue? What should be proper behavior? Would it better if Lockscreen layout will always be reset to the first?

We still need to check if Application Switching Policy itself works properly on X11. Maybe it's a broader problem.
Thank you for reporting this issue in KDE software. As it has been a while since it was reported, can we please ask you to see if you can reproduce the issue with a recent software version? Like Plasma 5.25, or ideally 5.26? If you can reproduce the issue, please change the status to "CONFIRMED" when replying. Thank you!
