Do you have any idea which format is used by other applications? I somehow remember that QIF had some sort of support for it. What is your use case?

Dear Sir,
I prefer .csv file as it can be created and edited easily using excel or equivalent.
Export is required to understand the structure of the file.
Import is useful to enter easily a series of monthly interest or other payments received in future or series of payments to be paid.
Such series of payments or receipts can be created as csv file using excel and imported.

Of course qif and csv are popular formats used by many applications. My interest is primarily use KMyMoney and this file will help me speed up entries.
Thanks.

Please clarify whether you want to import a number of recurring transactions, or the "schedule" for those transactions? These are very different. For the former, you can easily use the current CSV import.
Export will not tell you very much about the structure of your .kmy file, if that is what you want. When the information is exported, it is converted to the structure of the export format, and loses much of the details of the internal KMM storage format.

Scheduled transactions for investment transactions are (currently) not supported. To create a scheduled transaction based on an existing transaction you can select the transaction and use "Transaction/Create scheduled transaction" to just do that.
