Comment 3 Michael Pyne 2019-05-11 23:40:39 UTC
Seems to be something with the thumbnailer trying to make previews of a media file somewhere. The backtrace points to taglib (a separate library) but I would also think that a thumbnailer crash shouldn't bring down all of kdeinit5.
Comment 4 Kai Uwe Broulik 2019-05-13 11:03:49 UTC
I think it just displays kdeinit5, the actual process having crashed is likely thumbnail.so

How I understand it's a similar crash (again).

KDE Frameworks Version: 5.66.0
Qt Version: 5.13.2
Comment 6 Lukas Veitas 2020-06-03 19:31:56 UTC
I can confirm same issue started ~4 days ago, it shows kdeinit5 crash on login.
System: KDE Neon 5.18.5, up to date as of today.

Some clues that may come in handy (or not at all) - I had downloaded ~70GBs of videos, ~1.4GB each, and downloaded a lot of themes, fiddled around with them too, recently. Plasma started to act weird by displaying icons on desktop and in dolphin from different icon themes, reverting to breeze "look-and-feel" theme solved it.

I don't have any more precise timeline.

I missed the fact I can add attachments myself. Sorry.
