Description abugreporter 2019-04-30 18:03:18 UTC
SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Dolphin
2. Plug an iOS device, in this case an iPad

OBSERVED RESULT
Under Devices, the iOS device doesn't appear. To open photos on the iOS device one has to go to the Device Notifier and click one of the duplicate cameras that appear (bug 383255), or navigate to camera:/ . There is no way of opening Documents on the device.

EXPECTED RESULT
Under Devices, the iOS device should appear. You should be able to access the photos and documents on it from there.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.57.0
Qt Version: 5.12.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
libimobiledevice should be useful to implement this functionality
Attached are two screenshots on how this is done on Nautilus.

If your device doesn't appear in the Device Notifier either, then the problem is below Dolphin. FWIW my old iPhone 5 shows up there (but thereafter, suffers from Bug 383255).

Nautilus seems to handle this case very nicely. I'm jealous. :)
