I cannot get a brush to use 'scattering' regardless of what I choose in 'pen settings'. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Select any brush that uses an engine with 'scatter' available. 2. Check the box for scatter, select any pen setting, or disable pen settings entirely, it makes no difference. Strength can be set to anything from 0 to 500. Select any different curves and any curve calculation mode you like, check boxes for either X or Y axis or both. Make any kind of curve you like. 3. Attempt to paint. OBSERVED RESULT The brush behaves exactly as if scatter had never been checked at all. Whatever previous settings it had will continue to work, but it does not scatter. EXPECTED RESULT Brush tips would be applied with scattering consistent with whichever settings were chosen previously, e.g. wider scattering with greater pen pressure. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 17763) macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I am using a huion tablet with model no 'WH1409 v2' with drivers 14.7.60.339 (the latest right now), however it is worth noting that I do have pressure sensitivity for things like size, flow, and opacity, on brushes that use them. At this point I'm uncertain whether the tablet has anything to do with the problem at all.
I cannot reproduce this in the latest master. Can you attach a screenshot of the brush setting dialog?
(In reply to wolthera from comment #1) > I cannot reproduce this in the latest master. Can you attach a screenshot of > the brush setting dialog? I'm thinking now that the issue was just with my particular install, as I did a clean reinstall earlier this morning and now it works as expected again. I will try to mark it resolved (at least, I think that's how this works) unless it starts to happen again after some use, in which case I'll try to remember to screencap.
