Description Oded Arbel 2019-04-27 12:50:12 UTC
SUMMARY

As described in bug #406409 (comment 2), the "Move tab to the left/right" shortcuts have not been working in the 19.04 pre-release since the beginning of April.

In the latest builds from KCI (4:19.04.0+p19.04+git20190425.1733-0), "next tab", "previous tab" and "switch to last tab" have joined the fallen - now the only way to switch tabs with the keyboard is the "last used tab" and its reverse, the "switch to tab #" shortcuts, and "toggle between two tabs".

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Konsole with a default configuration
2. Create some tabs
3. Try to use the default keyboard shortcut to switch to the left or right tab or move tab right or left.

OBSERVED RESULT

Nothing happens

EXPECTED RESULT

The advertised effect should happen.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.58.0
Qt Version: 5.12.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Neither of the last remaining vestiges of keyboard navigation are pretty useless:

- "last used" order is pretty unpredictable if you have more than 3 tasks so it is basically - let us search through all open tabs, in more or less random order, until we find what we need - similar to how single desktop app switching works in windows: useless waste of time when you have more than 3 windows.

- "switch to #" requires you to sacrifice (and remember) a whole lot of key combinations and then to count the tabs in the tab-bar or just mush the keys until you get where you want - slightly better than the above as it is now "let us search through all open tabs, in order, and allow you to guess and skip ahead". Also, no shortcut is set by default.

- "toggle between two tabs", well - the problem of using this as a general navigation is spelled in its name, right? Also, it isn't set by default.

But after a log in and log out - everything works. NM then
