SUMMARY
Can't drag audio on to video track, which is needed for the audio waveform effect.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Drag MP3 into timeline
2. Drag Audio Waveform Effect to MP3
3. Drag audio to video track

OBSERVED RESULT
Audio doesn't go on video track

EXPECTED RESULT
Audio stays on video track, and the audio waveform filter works properly

Kdenlive version: 19.04
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux (Running Budgie as Desktop)
KDE Plasma Version: None

I think you talking about the “Audio Waveform Filter”. 

The filter was intended for clips which have the audio embedded inside. So it’s no more useful. 

To see the wave form on audio: hit CTR+SHIFT+, (comma) and tick under Timeline “Thumbnails”, “Audio” and “Separate Channels “ if needed. Then you see the waveform.

Yes, I was talking about the Audio Waveform Filter...

The Audio Waveform Filter doesn't work with audio embedded inside because Kdenlive 19.04 now separates audio from the video, which means I still can't use the Audio Waveform Filter.

This can be done using the master effect. Click on Master on top of all tracks -> and drag/drop the "audio waveform filter" into the master effect window. (I'm using 19.12.3)
