SUMMARY
After having created a project with Kdenlive 18.12.1b-x86_64.appimage very successfully I can not get to edit it or any other material anymore. All I did inbetween was starting and closing the 19.04-Appimage and changing the library.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Opening a clip or a project
2. Pressing play on the clip monitor or on the project monitor

OBSERVED RESULT
Kdenlive freezes.

EXPECTED RESULT
Kdenlive plays the clip or project.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux Mint 18.3. Cinnamon 64-bit

KDE Frameworks Version: 5.53.0
Qt Version: 5.11.2
MLT version 6.13.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I suspect it could have to do with having used the 19.04-Appimage which uses MLT version 6.15.0

Also the 19.04-Appimage is not able to play any clip or project. It just freezes.

Seems the same solution like in bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402593.

Could you solve the issue by deleting "kdenliverc"? If not delete "kdenlive-appimagerc" as well.

Hi emohr,

thanks for getting back on this. Before I red your suggestion I fiddled around with the cached files. I just deleted all that I found in

USERNAME/.local/share/kdenlive
and in
USERNAME/kdenlive

and now I can play and edit the 18.12.-project in 19.04 with no problem.
Comment 4 Karl 2019-04-24 09:40:06 UTC
And I can of course also still and again edit it with Kdenlive 18.12

Thanks for the feedback.
I update the documentation here: https://community.kde.org/Kdenlive/Configuration#GNU.2FLinux

and here: https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/Windows_Issues .
