SUMMARY Default background color is white, which is ok, but if someone wants to create a HDR image, it hurts their eyes because the first thing they see is a huge super bright white rectangle. It's like looking directly at a lightbulb. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Get a HDR setup. 2. Clear up preferences. 3. Create a new image with Rec2020 linear color space. Don't touch "Content" tab. OBSERVED RESULT Big white rectangle burning your eyes. EXPECTED RESULT Dimmed light-grey rectangle, maybe? Or at least some kind of a warning... NOTES: Since user can set up their own default background color (it is remembered and suggested/used next time), it needs to be thought through: it wouldn't be great to overwrite user's choice. On the other hand, color selector used in Content tab don't support HDR... SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Version: 4.2.0-pre-alpha (git fb08951) Windows: 10 Qt Version: 5.12.2
It's a good idea, but wishlist.
