Created attachment 119538 [details]
兩圖中同一張照片的標籤沒有同步(紅圈)

SUMMARY
不管是在digiKam裡修改照片的TAG,或是在Windows檔案總管裡修改照片的TAG,兩邊都不會同步。通過digiKam裡reread metadata from files也沒作用。

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. 在WINDOWS檔案總管更新照片標籤,再打開digiKam。
2. 執行Album->Reread Metedata from files指令。
3. 顯示如附圖,標籤資料沒有更新。

The labels of the same photo in both images are not synchronized (red circle)

SUMMARY
Whether you modify the TAG of the photo in digiKam, or modify the TAG of the photo in the Windows Explorer, the two sides will not be synchronized. Reread metadata from files in digiKam also didn't work.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Update the photo tag in the WINDOWS file manager and open digiKam.
2. Execute the Album->Re Read Metadata from files command.
3. As shown in the figure, the label information is not updated.

Look here: Bug 406445 or Bug 406540 a similar problem.

DigiKam searches multiple metadata fields for tags, Explorer only changes one field. Move "Exif.Image.XPKeywords" from the last position in the list to the top position in the advanced metadata settings-> Tags (read setting).

I tested it here, it works. Did you execute re-read metadata from the item?

even execute re-read metadata from the item or album, no any tags be changed.
it shown different from windows explore. maybe cause by TAGS using CHINESE-language?
Comment 7 Maik Qualmann 2019-04-21 10:37:36 UTC
The Chinese language in tags actually seems to cause a problem. Although the set Chinese tag in Explorer appears here in digiKam, but with confused characters. As it seems, Windows Explorer encodes the metadata field in UTF16.

digiKam 7.0.0 stable release is now published and now available as FlatPak:

https://www.digikam.org/news/2020-07-19-7.0.0_release_announcement/

We need a fresh feedback on this file using this version.

Thanks in advance

Can you please test the current digiKam-7.2.0-Beta2 from here:

https://files.kde.org/digikam/

This problem should also be fixed by Bug 429261.
I added Chinese characters to an image in the Windows Photo Viewer. In my opinion, these are displayed correctly in digiKam-7.2.0-Beta2.
