Created attachment 119463 [details] Blank Rating section SUMMARY I would like to use Kphotoalbum on Ubuntu 18.04. In the Annotations Windows, the Ratings section is blank so that I cannot rate photos. Please see attached screenshot. This is the same whether I compile from source, or use the version from the ubuntu packages. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Right click on icon 2. Select Annotate Individual Items OBSERVED RESULT Rating: is blank and cannot be set SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu 18.04 kdelibs-bin: 4:4.14.38-0ubuntu3 Qt Version: (libqt5) 5.9.5-0ubuntu1.1
We don't do anything fancy with the ratings widget, so my best guess is that the problem is a missing rating icon in your icon scheme. Can you verify if the icon "rating" is installed? An easy way to do this is by running the command "kiconfinder rating". The command should print something like "/usr/share/icons/breeze-dark/emblems/22/rating.svg" as result.
Created attachment 119469 [details] attachment-32761-0.html kiconfinder rating gives: /usr/share/icons/breeze/emblems/16/rating.svg I had the impression that it was not giving a rating, even when I pressed keys 1-5, which I read about somewhere. But I did not confirm this for certain. That should work in the image viewer, but not in the annotation dialog. If you press e.g. key 3 in the image viewer, do you get any visual feedback? If you then save the database and inspect the index.xml file, does the corresponding image tag contain a rating attribute?
