oups...
i was meaning that you can't even choose what kind of map you want (OSM or MapQuest),everything is disabled

Hi,
probably, your pictures do not have enough precision about geolocation info provided by satellites while shot have been taken.

Can you share a file on cloud to test ?

I now see AppImage, this is the Locale System problem.

Use "LC_NUMERIC=C path/to/digikam-x.x.x.appimage" to start AppImage.

This problem still reproducible using last Linux AppImage bundle 6.2.0 pre release available here : https://files.kde.org/digikam/
