Description Øystein Steffensen-Alværvik 2019-04-15 19:18:23 UTC
SUMMARY
If Okular is running with tabs activated, and multiple tabs are opened in an Okular instance, stopping the Activity that Okular runs in will attempt to exit Okular (when it should continue to run). This also prevents logging out from the application menu.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the Activities sidebar
2. Create a new or open an existing activity
3. Open Okular (make sure that 'open documents in tabs' is turned on in settings)
4. Open two documents and make sure they opened in tabs
5. Open the Activities sidebar and close the Activity that Okular is running in
6. Re-open the Activity you just closed

OBSERVED RESULT
Okular returns a dialog asking whether you really want to close Okular. When only steps 1–5 is followed (the Activity remains closed with Okular displaying the confirmation dialog), this prevents any attempt to log out or shutdown from the application menu.

EXPECTED RESULT
When doing steps 1–5, Okular should not attempt to exit (normally an application will continue to run even when an Activity is stopped).

Scratch the shutdown bug, it seems to be unrelated.

Why was this marked not a bug? It prevents stopping an Activity when using Okular with tabs, so the user can't resume the Activity with the documents (which is possible when using Okular *without*

"possible when using Okular *windowed*"

I have never used activities myself so when you said "Scratch the shutdown bug, it seems to be unrelated." i thought you meant this wasn't an actual bug and you got confused with something else.

Did I misunderstand what you mean? Should I reopen the bug?

I can still confirm the bug. The 'shutdown bug' I meant as a side-effect of this bug, so it's related but I didn't mean that the bug I reported was fixed.

You know how, when you try to shutdown Okular with multiple tabs open, a dialog is shown to confirm that you really want to close the tabs? Well, as long as that dialog is displayed, I cannot shutdown the system. I have to choose either 'Yes' or 'No' in the dialog, and then I can shutdown. That's what I meant by 'shutdown bug'. Should I report this as a separate bug?

Yes
