SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open discover > open "Updates" (Aktualisierung)
2. wait until all vacant updates have been found
3. press "update all" (Alles aktualisieren)

OBSERVED RESULT

the authentication dialogue window shows up in the middle of the screen but disappears again within a fraction of a second leaving no chance to enter the password for authentication.

then a notice window appears saying that the update could not be done.

"You have no authentication to proceed this action"
"Failed to obtain authentication"

EXPECTED RESULT

The dialogue window would normally appear and I would enter the Password to obtain permission and do the updates

I have Discover 5.18.7 and Kubuntu 20.04 & I just experienced this issue.

You're using a version of Discover that's 7 years old, and has been out of support by KDE for at least 6. You need to either upgrade to the latest version, or else contact Kubuntu for support.
