Created attachment 119357 [details] Advanced search menu, default size. SUMMARY When doing an advanced search, for instance finding pictures that contain two Tags, you must use a dropdown menu which is quite small and has no scrollbars. That implies a heavy use of the mouse wheel until you find what you are looking for. Maximizing the window helps a little, but it's still a hassle. I have attached a few screenshots so it's easier to see what I mean. I think that those menus should include a scrollbar, and, ideally, a search field.

The fact that there is no vertical scroll bar is due to the Fusion Style. Here under KF5 Desktop with Breeze Style is one available. The Fusion Style is a compromise with the AppImage. Maik
Aha. Well, I just wanted to point that out. If there's the possibility of improving it sometime in the future, I think it could be considered.
With next digiKam 7.4.0 release, AppImage bundle is compiled using a more recent Linux Mageia 7.1 host. Last stable Qt 5.15.2 and KF5 5.84 are used. ImageMagick codec 7 and libav 58 (ffmpeg) are used to supports extra image and video formats. https://i.imgur.com/XV1tZkL.png Please check if problem still reproducible with this version available as pre-release here: https://files.kde.org/digikam/ Gilles Caulier
From the current 7.4 release, that menu still looks exactly the same.
Marc, Did you tried the AppImage based on Qt6.10.1 just published as daily build. Do not use the Qt5 build, the days are numbers, as Qt5 is in end of life. Also try the breeze style if it's available, as Maik said. Gilles Caulier
Created attachment 187840 [details] digiKam AppImage 8.9.0 - Qt 6.10.1 - Advanced search dropdown menu with scrollbar. Hi Marc, I tried the digiKam 8.9.0 AppImage based on Qt 6.10.1 and the Advance search drop down menu look with a scrollbar as expected. In this screenshot i use Fusion widget theme and Breeze dark icon (this one is important). Best regards Gilles Caulier
Hi Gilles, I tested with the latest digiKam-8.9.0-20251221T140213-Qt6-Win64.exe, choosing the Fusion widget style and Breeze icon theme (Breeze dark does not seem to be available in my system), but I still don't see the scrollbars either in the Tag or album list. I noticed the QT version is 6.9.1, so either that or the lack of Breeze dark that might be the reason?
Ah yes, you are under windows, sorry. I tested with the AppImage which is just updated with last stable Qt. I plan to update the Windows installer with the last Qt with VCPKG pakage manager will update Qt as well. I hope while this Christmas time... Gilles
Yeah, sorry, someday I'll return to the right path. Thanks for all your work and happy holidays!
