Description avlas 2019-04-08 14:30:00 UTC
LaTeX is installed and working fine in my system.

Perhaps there is a (not so obvious) dependency (that I am not aware of) for getting this working in Kmail with the Markdown addon (which works fine in my system).

Any help on this is more than appreciated!

If I'm not wrong 'Enable embedded LaTeX' option from Discount lib (libmarkdown2) is just to avoid converting LaTeX content to html as if it was markdown content, and instead leaving it as raw text.

If correct, I wonder whether there is any option to render LaTeX equations in Kmail and/or convert them to PNG (or SVG) images embedded in html.

You're right.

We need a component for generated latex equations.
But kmail is a mailer not an text editor where it can be useful.

The readability of emails with displayed equations would be far higher than those having just raw latex. This would be very useful for scientists and engineers.

But I understand. I was wondering whether it might be a way to easily render/convert latex equations into images embedded in the html (perhaps using katex or kile).
