ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Mike 2019-04-08 00:59:28 UTC
Expected result would be to have my work saved. I've tried saving in various formats and no results. Export yields same results.

have yo tried to save to another location?
This error sounds to me as a file system permissions error. Basically you are trying to write into a read only folder.

Setting this to waiting for info till we get more information.
Comment 4 Mike 2019-04-09 00:03:35 UTC
It behaves this way with all folders...Krita is the only program with this issue...as stated previously, I can see hidden files as well via the save dialog box

Have you tried saving to your 'my documents' folder? Because it might be that this specific folder has some permissions that Krita doesn't have?

If you're seeing hidden files, try toggling the 'native file dialog' in settings->configure Krita->general->misc

Check whether https://docs.krita.org/en/KritaFAQ.html#windows-krita-cannot-save is relevant, too.
Comment 8 Mike 2019-04-10 01:05:23 UTC
It saves in the Documents folder albeit it did not do it the first time I tried. I made a sub-folder for Krita work and it saved there as well. Thanks for your help.

Okay, so this isn't a bug, then.
