SUMMARY Dolphin has an awkward behavior. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Click on a file 2. Drag it to another place OBSERVED RESULT The file is not moved. System block my action. EXPECTED RESULT The file is moved. System respect my action. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Since 1984 -35 years- I have been moving files my moving them. In MacOS, Windows and iOS. In real life when I move a piece of paper on my desk, it moves. When I put it in the trash, it goes in the trash. I am so shocked I put this a grave severity. Moving files happens so often and this is so different from all other desktops, it really blocks me from using KDE and it feels very sad.
Does this happen with any file/when you drag the file to any folder? I only know of a confirmation dialog when dragging files to the trash and no confirmation dialog pops up when moving a file from e.g. Downloads to Documents in Dolphin 19.03.90. You can easily disable the "Move to trash?" dialog in Settings->General->Confirmations.
The reporter is unclear. He sees a popup menu, not a dialog.

You can easily disable the "Move to trash?" > dialog in Settings->General->Confirmations. I run Dolphin 18.12.3-lp150.164.3. If I go in "Dolphin settings" (Ctrl+Shift+,), a "Dolphin preferences" window appears. Then in the "Confirmations" tab there is a checkbox for "Moving files or folders to wastebin". I unchecked it and it works perfect: If I drag a file to the trash, the file goes in the trash. In this same tab, there is no question about confirming the movement of a file. Dragging a file from one folder to the other or from one folder to the desktop opens a pop up menu with this content: "Move here, copy here, link here, etc...". This is really user-hostile and I can't find a way to disable that behavior to make the system more friendly.
