However it shows "sr0" if the optical disc is a VCD, an audio CD or a blu-ray video disc. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. insert a VCD, an audio cd or a blu-ray video disc 2. use VLC player to play the inserted disc 3. while VLC plays the disc, open the media player applet in the systray OBSERVED RESULT As we can see in my screenshot, media player applet shows "sr0" above the control buttons EXPECTED RESULT media player should show the disc label for VCD and blu-ray discs and "Audio CD" for audio CDs. It's VLC's task to provide appropriate metadata for the track it's playing. Please provide the output of qdbus org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.vlc /org/mpris/MediaPlayer2 org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.Player.Metadata If there's no artist, title, and album information, we just use the "filename".

So, yeah, it doesn't set any information we could use. This is a VLC issue.
